Sigtryggur Baldursson is a veteran musician from Iceland. He now runs the Iceland Music Export office and has recently made 4 series of a television show called Hljómskálinn about music in Iceland. Outside of Iceland he is best known for his work as a founding member of a band from Iceland called the Sugarcubes, that was prominent in the late 80´s and more recently with Emiliana Torrini.
His current projects include the percussion ensamble Parabolur that utilizes telecommunications satellite covers. He regularly plays percussion with various Icelandic artists like Kippi Kaninus and sometimes sings with his calypso band Bogomil Font. Recently he scored music for feature film and theater in Iceland, and occasionally makes short films like Fencing, where he wrote, directed and scored.
