Jesper Pedersen

Jesper Pedersen er tónskáld, flytjandi og kennari sem býr í Reykjavík. Hann býr til raftónlist og hljóðlist jafnt sem tónlist fyrir akústísk hljóðfæri og notar rafræna rauntímanótnaskrift. Undanfarið hefur hann einbeitt sér að lifandi flutningi með “modular synthesizer” bæði sem sólóflytjandi og í mismunandi samstarfi. Tónlist hans hefur verið lýst sem: “fallegri, lúmskri” og “helvíti Ambient”.

Verk hans hafa verið flutt alþjóðlega af meðlimum S.L.Á.T.U.R., Goodiepal and Pals, Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands, Duo Harpverk, Ensemble Adapter og hljóðfæraleikurum eins og Katie Buckley, Ingólfi Vilhjámssyni o.fl. Á hátíðum hafa verk hans verið flutt á Tectonics Festival, Nordlichter Biennale, Open Days, Rainy Days, Sonic 7.0, Summartónar, Raflost, Geiger, Sláturtíð, Myrkum músíkdögum og Norrænum músíkdögum.


Jesper Pedersen

Jesper Pedersen is a composer, performer and educator based in Reykjavík. He makes both electronic music and sound art as well as music for acoustic instruments using digitally generated animated notations. Recently he’s been focusing on live performance using modular synthesizers both solo and in different collaborations. His music has been described as: “Beautiful, subtle“ and “Ambient as hell”. 

His works have been performed internationally by members of S.L.Á.T.U.R., Goodiepal and Pals, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Duo Harpverk, Ensemble Adapter, Katie Buckley, Ingólfur Vilhjámsson and more. Festival appearances includes the Tectonics Festival, Nordlichter Biennale, OpenDays, Rainy Days, Sonic 7.0, Summartónar, Raflost, Geiger, Sláturtíð, Dark Music Days, and Nordic Music Days.

He is a part of the Icelandic composers collective S.L.Á.T.U.R., the experimental ensemble Fengjastrútur, Resterne af Rigsfællesskabet, Atónal Blús and Synesiotechnoikema.

Jesper teaches electronic music at the Kópavogur Computer Music Center and is an adjunct lecturer in electronic music composition at Iceland University of the Arts. He is co-organizer of the Raflost Festival of electronic Art.
