Danielle Dahl
is a norwegian composer, performer and improviser currently situated in Copenhagen, Denmark. In her solo work and compositions she is currently exploring psychoacoustic phenomenas, noise and developing extended techniques for playing very high pitched sounds. She is also interested in more conceptual ways of addressing the classical concert situation, be it giving up my control of the piece to a computer, focus fatigue, or the playing of a van-halen riff for a very long time.
Her music is often quiet (or very loud, it’s kind of the same thing) and is developed and played over long stretches of time with few elements. As blaise pascal says: «all of man’s problems come from his inability to sit quietly in a room alone». so i’m working on that. you can see a list of future and past pieces under «works».
